Remediation of chronic degradation — Recover phase

Platform Stabilization Sprint

Targeted, intensive engagements that stabilize cloud environments and business-critical applications affected by chronic degradation in production

When a system is not fully down but keeps degrading — intermittently slow, unstable under load, with errors that keep coming back — another restart will not help. The causes must be removed. The Platform Stabilization Sprint is a time-boxed, intensive, and focused engagement. It brings cloud environments and business-critical applications back to stable operation and removes recurring degradation at its root. We look at the problem end-to-end — application, database, cloud, and operations — because in production the cause almost never sits in a single component.

At a glance

The service in brief

Service
An intensive sprint to stabilize cloud environments and applications affected by chronic degradation.
When you need it
The system is not fully down, but it degrades repeatedly in production.
R.O.C.E. phase
Recover: the first phase of the Miriade R.O.C.E. methodology (Recover · Optimize · Control · Evolve).
Format
A time-boxed, targeted, and focused engagement.
Scope
Cloud environments, business-critical applications, and operations, analyzed end-to-end.
Approach
Removing causes, not just symptoms, to prevent recurrence.
Distinct from
Miriade 112 (acute outages) and SRE & Continuous Platform Support (continuous managed service).
When you need it

Not down, but not stable either

Some systems never fail completely, yet they never become truly stable. Every week brings a new degradation, a recurring error, or a fix that does not last. That is where a sprint is needed.

Business-critical applications that are slow or intermittent in production.
Unstable cloud environments with no clear root cause.
Errors and degradation that return after every temporary fix.
Performance that collapses under load and then recovers.
Restarts and workarounds that have become daily practice.
An incident was resolved, but the system remains fragile.
Interactions among applications, databases, and cloud that were never fully understood.
You need stability before you can optimize or evolve.
The process

How it works

A sprint is not a series of restarts. It is a short, intensive process that goes from diagnosis to removal of the causes.

Triage and scoping

We define the symptoms, impact, and scope of the sprint. We obtain the access we need and gather evidence.

End-to-end diagnosis

We analyze application, database, cloud, and operations together to reach the real cause of the degradation, not the symptom.

Stabilization

We take targeted, intensive action to bring the environment back to stable operation.

Removal of recurring causes

We eliminate the causes of chronic degradation, so the problem does not come back.

Handover and prevention

We deliver the evidence, the actions taken, and recommendations. Where needed, this leads into a continuous managed service.

Our approach

The cause, not the symptom

In production, the cause almost never sits in a single component. That is why we look for it end-to-end.

Success stories

Documented Miriade engagements: tracing the cause and restoring operations in production environments.

Unstable Platforms and Recurring Incidents

From recovery to continuous management

The area spans immediate recovery (Recover) to continuous management (Control). The Sprint is the intensive engagement for chronic degradation in production.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from Miriade 112?

Miriade 112 is our emergency response service for a stalled or failing system. The name comes from 112, the European emergency number (911 in North America, 110/120 in China). The Sprint is a time-boxed, intensive engagement on systems that degrade chronically but are still running.

And compared with SRE & Continuous Platform Support?

The Sprint is limited in scope and removes the causes of a degradation. SRE is the continuous managed service that maintains reliability over time. The Sprint often leads into the managed service.

Do you work on systems you did not build?

Yes. We work on existing cloud environments and applications, regardless of who built them.

How long does a sprint last?

It is a time-boxed engagement. Its duration is set during triage, based on symptoms, scope, and severity.

What do you deliver at the end of the sprint?

The evidence collected, the causes identified, the actions taken, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.

How does it start?

With triage: we define the symptoms, impact, and scope of the sprint.

Do you need to bring your system back to stable operation?

Tell us about the symptoms and the impact. We define the scope of the sprint and remove the degradation at its root, looking at the problem end-to-end.

Describe the symptoms, the impact in production, and how long they have lasted. We will tell you whether and how we can help with a targeted stabilization sprint.
